About Laurel Mill

Located in the middle of historic Laurel, the Laurel Mill Playhouse exists to bring live theatre to a vibrant and diverse community, foster a creative environment, and help local individuals nurture their talent. The Playhouse is the home of the Burtonsville Players, which has been providing community theatre to the quad-county area for more than 50 years.

Who Are We?

Originally organized 50 years ago as the Burtonsville Players, Inc., the Laurel Mill Playhouse produces community-driven productions in our completely renovated, 100-year-old antique home in the middle of historic Laurel, Maryland. That makes us one of the few community theater organizations to own its facility. We are located approximately half-way between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple. We aim to provide the community with the opportunity to expand the cultural base of the quad-county area through theatre arts, combining music, art, dance, youth, and senior activities.

Our group has the determination to provide the space and resources to foster a creative environment. By encouraging individuals to be challenged by new works and skills, we hope to assist in the discovery and expansion of creative potential in the community.

Our goal is to provide training and initiate outreach opportunities within the counties we serve.
